Itinerary

Day 01: (14th Dec 2023) Dibrugarh Arrival – Mon (04 Hrs Approx)

Arrive at Dibrugarh Airport and directly proceed to Mon. Arrive at Mon and check in to the hotel. Overnight stay at Mon.

 

Day 02: (15th Dec 2023) Mon – Longwa – Mon (45 Km/2 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast, get ready for an excursion to Longwa, one of the largest villages in the Mon district. It is located at the India - Myanmar border and mostly is home to the Konyak tribe. Here, visit the home of the Angh (the village chief), which lies half in India half in Myanmar. Meet the chief along with other Konyak families. Get to know their history and culture. Witness their war trophies collected in the Morungs (dormitories) and local crafts. You can also buy tribal ornaments and metal crafts as souvenirs from Longwa Village. Walk around the farms and see their Jhum cultivation. Once the tour completes, drive back to your stay in Mon and enjoy a comfortable sleep.

Day 03: (16th Dec 2023) Mon to Shangnyu Village and Chui Village

Morning after breakfast you can go for Shangnyu Village:  Ruled by the chief Angh, Shangnyu village located at a distance of 28 kms from town is one of the prominent villages in Mon district. The huge and unique piece of wood-carving at the entrance of the Angh's house, which is believed to be constructed by two brothers with the help of the spirit, appears to be made during the metallic Age which measures approximately 189 feet in length and breadth, 14 feet high-is now properly preserved in a concrete museum right in front of the Angh’s house. Now it is 500-600 years old. The memorial stones are also found in front of the Angh's palace. History records that good and friendly relationships existed between Shangnyu and Ahom kings. After that visit -
Chui Village: Chui is an ethnic village located at 8 kms from the heart of Mon town that exhibits a rich Konyak culture and tradition. Museum depicts the old tradition of hunting skills from the arrays of skulls of different stags arranged inside the Morung. Evening back to hotel and overnight stay at Mon.

 

Day 04: (17th Dec 2023) Mon – Dibrugarh Departure (04 Hrs Approx)

This morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and directly proceed to Dibrugarh Airport for your onward journey with everlasting memories.
