Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati | Transfer to Kaziranga

  • Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.
  • Upon your arrival, meet our local representative and board your transfer to Kaziranga National Park which is UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • REach Kaziranga and check into the hotel/homestay.
  • Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing, in preparation for the fun and adventurous journey that lies ahead.
  • Overnight stay in a hotel at Kaziranga.

Stay: Borgos The Wild Haven or Similar 

 

Day 2: Safari Day | Explore Kaziranga National Park

  • Wake up early in the morning to embark on a morning Elephant Safari (at your own expense) in Kaziranga National Park.
  • Kaziranga National Park is home to many species of animals & birds including the One-horned rhino.
  • After your safari, return back to the hotel for your breakfast.
  • Rest for some time or go exploring around (on your own).
  • In the afternoon, head out to enjoy a jeep safari (at your own expense) in the Kaziranga national park.
  • This evening safari in the Kaziranga National Park will take you through the areas where the chances of spotting tigers, elephants, and other wildlife species are quite high.
  • Upon completing the safari, return back to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Kaziranga.

Day 3: Kaziranga National Park to Shillong  | Travel to the Scotland of North East

  • After having your breakfast at the hotel in Kaziranga, board your transfers to Shillong - Scotland of the east.
  • On the way take a stop over at the beautiful Umiam Lake, a man-made reservoir surrounded by Sylvan hills.
  • Further, proceed towards your hotel in Shillong.
  • Upon reaching, check in to the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure wherein you can choose to explore the local market
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.

Day 4: Shillong to Cherrapunjee | Visit the 3-tired Wei Sawdong Falls

  • Post breakfast at the hotel, and get ready to explore the natural wonders of Meghalaya.
  • As you board your transfer to Cherrapunjee, take your first stop at Elephant Falls, a multilayered waterfall, and be amazed by the panoramic vistas of the surroundings.
  • Arrive at Mawkdok Dympep Viewpoint and admire wonderful views of the V-shaped valley & sloping hills.
  • Reach the 3-tiered Wei Sawdong Falls as you hike for approximately 200 meters.
  • Move further towards Cherrapunjee, which is known to be the wettest place on earth in terms of rainfall.
  • Here, visit the viewpoint of the famous Nohkhalikai Falls and get to know the dreadful story behind this beautiful waterfall.
  • After this, stop at the viewpoint of the Seven Sisters’ Falls to enjoy the amazing views of these 7-streamed waterfalls.
  • Spend some time exploring Mawsmai and Arwah caves which are famous for their limestone structure & fossils.
  • Lastly, visit the Garden of caves which is surrounded by misty green hills and forests all around, this place is home to a number of gorgeous waterfalls, tiny little ponds and an enchanting cave.
  • After completing the day’s sightseeing, reach your hotel in Cherrapunjee.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Cherrapunjee.

Day 5: Cherrapunji To Tyrna Village | Enjoy Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat) Trek

  • The driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to starting point of Nongriat Trek in Tryna Village.
  • Gear up for an exciting Nongriat trek as you reach the Tyrna village.
  • Pass through the scenic trails of forests & bridges and arrive at Double Decker Root Bridge (Nongriat).
  • Stroll through the bridge and marvel at the beautiful surroundings.
  • Start your return journey to Tyrna village by hiking up to 3000 steps.
  • Post-trek, the driver will drop you back at your pre-booked hotel for an overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 6: Cherrapunji To Dawki Via Mawlynnong | Visit Asia’s Cleanest Village

  • After having your breakfast at the hotel, board your transfers to explore some of the most beautiful places in Meghalaya.
  • Take your first stopover at Mawlynnong (110 km/ 02 ½ hrs drive) and get a chance to walk around Asia’s Cleanest Village.
  • On the outskirts of the village, witness nature’s wonder in the form of a Balancing Rock, which remains unmoved through years, despite the storms and cyclones.
  • Later, visit the Single Decker Living Root Bridge in Riwai village.
  • Post this you will reach Dawki where the ultimate experience of boating in crystal clear waters of the Umngot river awaits you (at your own expense).
  • After enjoying your boat ride, head back to Dawki
  • Overnight at the hotel in Dawki.

Day 7: Dawki to Shillong via Jowai | Visit The Magical Krang Suri Waterfalls

  • Post breakfast at the hotel, and get ready to explore the natural wonders of Meghalaya.
  • The driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Jowai 
  • Visit Jowai and see the majestic Krang Suri Waterfalls.
  • After sightseeing, visit Laitlum Canyon nearby Shillong, and see the shooting place of the Bollywood movie “Rock On 2”.
  • After sightseeing at the canyon, the driver drop you at your pre-booked hotel in Shillong for an overnight stay.

Day 8: Sightseeing Tour in Shillong | Transfer to Guwahati

  • After breakfast, head out to explore Shillong, also known as the Scotland of East.
  • Start off by visiting the Don Bosco Museum to get a glimpse of the rich and multicultural lifestyles of the indigenous tribes of North East India.
  • Later, visit the Cathedral Church, known for its stunning stained glass installations and tall arches.
  • Visit the Wards Lake - a horse-shoe-shaped lake surrounded by a beautiful garden constructed 100 years ago.
  • After completing the sightseeing, start your journey back to Guwahati.
  • Your tour concludes once you are dropped off at the Airport / Railway Station.
