Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati & Transfer to Kaziranga

  • Arrive at Guwahati Airport / Railway Station.
  • Upon your arrival, meet our local representative and board your transfer to Kaziranga National Park which is UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • REach Kaziranga and check into the hotel/homestay.
  • Enjoy the rest of the day relaxing, in preparation for the fun and adventurous journey that lies ahead.
  • Overnight stay in a hotel at Kaziranga.

Stay: IORA - The Retreat, Kaziranga or Similar 

 

Day 2: Kaziranga National Park Safari & Transfer to Shillong 

  • Wake up early in the morning to embark on a morning Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National Park.
  • Kaziranga National Park is home to many species of animals & birds including the One-horned rhino.
  • After your safari, return back to the hotel for your breakfast
  • Later board your transfers to Shillong - Scotland of the east.
  • On the way take a stop over at the beautiful Umiam Lake, a man-made reservoir surrounded by Sylvan hills.
  • Further, proceed towards your hotel in Shillong.
  • Upon reaching, check in to the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure wherein you can choose to explore the local market
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Shillong.

Day 3: Shillong Sightseeing 

  • After breakfast, head out to explore Shillong, also known as the Scotland of East.
  • Start off by visiting the Don Bosco Museum to get a glimpse of the rich and multicultural lifestyles of the indigenous tribes of North East India.
  • Later, visit the Cathedral Church, known for its stunning stained glass installations and tall arches.
  • Visit the Wards Lake - a horse-shoe-shaped lake surrounded by a beautiful garden constructed 100 years ago.
  • After completing the sightseeing, head back to your hotel 
  • Overnight stay in Shillong

Day 4: Shillong To Dawki Via Mawlynnong 

  • After having your breakfast at the hotel, board your transfers to explore some of the most beautiful places in Meghalaya.
  • Take your first stopover at Mawlynnong (110 km/ 02 ½ hrs drive) and get a chance to walk around Asia’s Cleanest Village.
  • On the outskirts of the village, witness nature’s wonder in the form of a Balancing Rock, which remains unmoved through years, despite the storms and cyclones.
  • Post this you will reach Dawki where the ultimate experience of boating in crystal clear waters of the Umngot river awaits you (at your own expense).
  • After enjoying your boat ride, head back to Cherrapunji
  • Overnight at the hotel in Cherrapunji

Day 5: Nongriat Trek

  • After having a healthy breakfast in the morning, get ready for an amazing trek in the hills of Meghalaya.
  • Visit Tyrna Village that offers a captivating trekking experience, with its picturesque landscapes and scenic trails leading up to the stunning living root bridge.
  • Upon reaching, head to the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge, made of 2 tree root entanglements and is an iconic tourist spot.
  • After this, you can hike to Rainbow Falls for a mesmerizing experience as the waterfall cascades down in a breathtaking display of colors.
  • Wrap your day with hiking back to Tyrna village 
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Cherrapunji.

Day 6: Cherrapunjee Sightseeing

  • Post breakfast at the hotel, and get ready to explore the natural wonders of Meghalaya.
  • As you board your transfer to Cherrapunjee, take your first stop at Elephant Falls, a multilayered waterfall, and be amazed by the panoramic vistas of the surroundings.
  • Arrive at Mawkdok Dympep Viewpoint and admire wonderful views of the V-shaped valley & sloping hills.
  • Reach the 3-tiered Wei Sawdong Falls as you hike for approximately 200 meters.
  • Move further towards Cherrapunjee, which is known to be the wettest place on earth in terms of rainfall.
  • Here, visit the viewpoint of the famous Nohkhalikai Falls and get to know the dreadful story behind this beautiful waterfall.
  • After this, stop at the viewpoint of the Seven Sisters’ Falls to enjoy the amazing views of these 7-streamed waterfalls.
  • Spend some time exploring Mawsmai and Arwah caves which are famous for their limestone structure & fossils.
  • Lastly, visit the Garden of caves which is surrounded by misty green hills and forests all around, this place is home to a number of gorgeous waterfalls, tiny little ponds and an enchanting cave.
  • After completing the day’s sightseeing, reach your hotel in Cherrapunjee.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Cherrapunjee.

Day 7: Departure

  • After breakfast, check out from your hotel and start your journey back to Guwahati.
  • Your tour concludes once you are dropped off at the Airport / Railway Station.
